unplanned vacation

Tara and Laurence Juber at the Fest for Beatle Fans

I took an unplanned vacation from my blog. With summer winding down, it has been hectic, sweaty and very busy.

Marsh and I took his cousins to museums and swimming pools. This past weekend I went to the Fest for Beatles Fans. Even though I wasn’t writing, listening to the music I love inspired me. I took mental notes. Now I have to find some time to get over to the coffee shop and write those notes down before they get filed away somewhere.

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing. But I feel like I have so much anger built up from the stress of selling a condo to manipulative bratty kids at the play land, so I don’t know what it feels like to relax anymore. I move from one event to the next. When time to relax creeps up, I easily fill it with about a million other things I have to do. Besides, relaxing these days costs money—so it’s a luxury I cannot afford until I sign the contract on my condo.

Don’t get me wrong, friends and family definitely make things easier—actually they make these situations possible to get through. You know your lucky when ten people jump up to help you when you’re down. But I feel it’s inevitable; being in this situation equals stress. While stress motivates it doesn’t do anything as far as giving myself permission to relax.

I look forward to the day when I can call my blog, planned vacation. Until then, I’ll keep searching for moments to write…
